Initiate supports plugins in the DateBook 6 and 2Day formats.
In the DateBk6 format (these plugins are all compatible with the Today view of DateBk6)

Last Application plugin - Shows the last applications launched. (This is included automatically in the main Initiate file)
Reset Doctor Plugin - Shows the current free cache. Tapping on the plugin will clear the cache. (this is built in to Reset Doctor)
Big Time plugin - Shows the time in very large font.
Voice Memo plugin - Shows how many voice memos you have recorded so you can do something about them! Tap on the plugin to launch the voice recorder.
Blank Plugin - By request, this plugin just leaves a blank line to help you layout your plugin view

Developing new plugins:
Plugin provides information to the calling application in an html-like format which can include references to icons stored in the plugin's database. The advantage of this method is that it allows the calling application to render the info, so the style will be completely compatibile. The disadvantage is a loss of control to the plugin, and only one line of display info.
Plugin is responsible for drawing it's info in a provided rectangle. Advantage of this plugin style is that the plugin is completely in control and can use standard palm drawing functions. The disadvantage is that although information on style is passed by the calling app - it is harder to make sure that the plugin observes style conventions.
